It's official- I hate Colorado!
It's semi-blizzarding again. How stupid. I went grocery shopping & they were out of everything- INCLUDING MINI MARSHMALLOWS. How much more of this can we take?
Fortunatley, I got me some Rachel Ray cookbooks & plenty of extra virgin olive oil.

As can be expected, I already made Solange (my Blythe) a hat for the snow-

le christmas update

a.k.a. shit i got/pictures.

The holiday went well. It was my family's last Christmas living in the same state, so as can be expected my parents went way, way, way overboard, so let's just say I got everything I asked for & then some...
A brief list of exciting things:
-espresso maker
-fancy shmancy toaster over
-gift cards to craft stores & restaraunts (food & yarn- what else do you need in life?!)
-yarn
-kick ass knee high socks, & a fabulous pair of thigh high striped socks <33333333
-sony dvd/surround sound system
-a bunch of beatles albums
-various knitting/crochet/sewing/cook books
The very best gifts were:

the tokidoki ciao mini handbag from my mommy & daddy, & a BLTHYE DOLL from will!
My mom also got me two Rachel Ray cookbooks. I had never heard of her before, but I can't wait to try about 70% of her recipes. Going to be making her Cleo's Caeser Chicken salad tonight. A little afraid of seeing what anchovies actually look like, but I know it will be tasty! They all sound so good! I guess she also has a television show that I should probably start watching.

Also, because my parents are moving in 10 days or so, they gave us a bunch of food & things they won't be taking with them. Including, BOXES of powdered cocoa so now we can make excellent tasty mochas at home =) Getting an espress maker was awesome since Will & I both are master baristas. That ups our coffee maker count to three.

I am friend to puppies big & small! The first dog is sascha (duh) & the second is Azazel. (my parent's dog/sascha's boyfriend).

& this is what i look like riiiiiight now-

can't believe I finally got one! Seriously need to craft her some new outfits soon.

Here is proof that I am not frozen outside amidst the giant drifts of snow!

...or if you don't watch the news/live in Colorado... you missed it. We had a big ass fucking blizzard & it sucked. That's pretty much the end. We were snowed in (quite happily albeit with alcoholic company) & now we're not.

I love how post-apocalyptic everything is after a blizzard! It's sort of like a zombie infestation, only we are left with masses of snow instead of masses of dead bodies, & obviously snow is easier to get rid of than the decomposing flesh of your neighbors...

:

before heading out. i hate how "goth" my winter accessories make me look.

parking lot. that truck is massivley lifted & snow was up past the wheel well

sort of boring snow action shot

yeah.

post blizzard, post cleanup parking lot view. those rounded white masses of snow everywhere are stranded snow covered cars.

this is the view from my window

taking the back stairs sucks lately

Not going to see them again for a while. Still can't figure out what to get them for X-mas, as they're moving into an apartment. Figured I would craft them tiny, compact things. Still working on something for my dad. (Maybe a felted travel bag? I don't know).
Anyways, I'll be around sometime.

so give us your first born & then it's a sinch

Today has definetly had it's ups and downs. It started off shitty, of course, thanks to my school carpool sitation. Both the girls left without me! So, I ended up not being able to make it to my first class. Bitches. Anyways, I used the time to study for a test in my 10am music class & it saved me from akward and/or boring conversations.
Then, I went to spend some time with my mommy. We got an outfit for me to wear to their renewing-their-vows/25th-wedding-anniversary thing. But during that, crisis occured. My glasses fell off my face & onto the ground & broke. Of course, I need them to see. And of course they're my only pair. So guess who's going to get new glasses tomorrow?
So instead of being angry, here are some pictures i took today of random things from around my house, etc.
(no el jay cut 'cos then you won't see 'em)::

i realized i have a small fridge. it's actually a wee bit shorter than me! (p.s. knitted that there hat, thank you!)

quite possibly the greatest travel mug, ever.

i MADE that there sock monkey when i was a kid. band stand courtesy of my old high school.

new shirt!

♥loev.
so come on baby, we're already fucked up
you're dead like us
you're dead like candy

So long story short, voting gets you nowhere unless you're a Democrat or Republican and that makes me very sad...

...Something that makes me very happy though is that last night one of the cashier's from the grocery store by my house told us that cake mixes were 10 for 35cents. Not like 35cents/peice but 35 cents, total. So, we got a bunch of cake mixes and a few things of frosting. The frosting's had coupons on them, so after the discount, Safeway actually owed us $1.20 Today, I looked online, and there are a lot of great cookie recipes involving cake mix. Huzzah. Can't wait to get baking. I got a new vintage apron while in Texas that I need to try out!

Teh boy and I drove downtown in search of Female Trouble on DVD. Super awesome record store did not have it, but they do have vastly oversized William S. Burroughs shirts (!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!) Which I really need to purchase for myself and convert into a wearable shirt. Anyways, long story short, we ended up getting Female Trouble and Roman Polanski's the Tenant on DVD for less than twenty dollars!! I wouldn't have thought to check out Borders, except in desparation, but they had tons of cool DVDs. Lots of Jess Franco gems (Vampyros Lesbos!), and exploitation movies. Going to have to start shopping there regularly.

My ride to school today totally sucked though. I carpool with these two girls who are coworkers and went the same high school. And *all* they talk about is either work or people they went to school with. Who fucking cares? Seriously. Once you're actually in college, who gives a fuck. Everyone I went to school with pretty much sucked ass and I think I'm a better person for not obsessing over their lives and spying on them via MySpace. Oh yeah, that's just me though! I think that's my biggest complaint about MySpace too- it's like one giant retarded high school reunion. I sure know my life would be a lot better if all my "friends" requests weren't assholes I hated in high school. Well okay, my life wouldn't actually be better, just my entire MySpace experience.

question: who has the coolest earrings, in the world?

answer:

this girl!

i just got them in the mail, and even though i haven't worn earrings in years, shoved them through. i also just got back from the DMV- which wasn't too bad. everybody there was *really* interesting in knitting, so i talked about knitting with a bunch of strangers. worked on a few rows of the socks i started two weeks ago. would love to finish them...
anyways, i think i should get going? i forgot they were doing furnace inspectiony things today @ our apartments and we had all this uhm... stuff... lying around. i don't know if anyone's been in our apartment, but it would be a little hard to miss all that stuff if they have. there's a filter lying outside of our door. which means they're coming back, or atleast coming in. either way, i kind of don't want to be here when they are incase they were in my apartment earlier. it's probably no big deal. but yaknow...

So yeah. Other than it being FUCKING FREEZING outside.... I'm doing alright.
Much going on in the crafty front: knitting pair of wool socks and learning to embroider! Next goal: to make shit load of cool pillows for massive couch thing... and start Xmas knitting *vomits*.
Needless to say, between feverish crafting and homework and working there is not much of a life in store for Jese kitty. I have managed to drink a variety of alcohols as of late (typically while knitting) and hung out with a few friends (and knitted).

Big change in my halloween costume. I was going to go as Ilsa, the blondest badass the SS has ever seen. Instead, I chose to celebrate my inner filth and be Connie Marble [see icon] and I even get to dress Will up as Raymond Marble (!!!). It will be awesome. Once I locate a CHEAP pair of cat-eye glasses. I haven't had an actual halloween costume in a few years (typically I just do some elaborate makeup and throw on some random props laying around the house) so this is BIG. Expect pictures and drinking and other debauchery. Still trying to get movies lined up for Halloween movie marathon.

Have I mentioned I'm going to Texas in a few weeks to finally meet the boy's family? A little nervous, yes. But I'm sure it will be fun, or well atleast okay.

It was really akward because this guy came in last night, and asked me out to dinner. Instead of being a bitch, I tried to reject him nicely and told him about how my little brother drove over an hour to pick me up after work so I was going to hang with him, etc - which was true. Well, he came in AGAIN, today. (Persistent little bugger!) And today I wasn't as nice? Kind of. I don't know it was really akward and I didn't want to talk to him, so I just sort of ignored him and ran into the back and did some dishes.

What really sort of offended me though was when he asked me out to dinner, he was all like "yeah I'm only in town for two days at a wedding" So uhm, apparently I look easy? (The correct answer to that would be no!) Things like this always happen when I wear makeup to work.

Things like that are always akward for me. I've been out of the dating world for so long, and don't plan on ever entering it. I have no real sense of etiquette, because the line "I already have a boyfriend, but thanks" doesn't seem to deter them. Maybe leave off the "but thanks". If only I could be a total bitch to people I don't work with...

(or something to that effect).
Going to be back in the "Hollywood of the East" pretty soon! Yes, I was sure to pack my brand new Pink Flamingos shirt. Also am bringing some yarn to make hatS with on teh plane, and some Kerouac and Burroughs to keep me company. Yarrrr mateys. See you soon!

I've been off of work for two hours now, but I still seem to lack the motivation to do this report on THYLACINES. Which is weird, because well you know. I love thylacines (imagine that!) Ugh, I also need to call my mommy. Have been putting that off for a few days because she's been really naggy lately about things.

Good news though, well sort of. I hadn't been getting an electric bill since we moved, and I wasn't going to call them and say anything about it. But, I had been worried that I owed them tons of money and maybe they would be shutting the power off, but no! They "overlooked the transfer of [my] utilities @ move-in" so in actuality, our apartment complex has been paying the bill until, well yesterday. But 3 1/2 free months of power is pretty okay with me!
I never have good luck like that! Like this morning, when I hit EVERY red light while running late to work. That was even alright though because it gave me time to smoke extra cigarettes in my car. (I'm trying to get this wool/fur coat thing I have to not *reek* like old lady, and can't afford to get it cleaned.)

So yeah, going to go do some homework now. Hopefully. Wish me luck.

p.s. Birthday in two days >^.^< !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I finally got everything straight with my employers reguarding my vacation. Long story short, it sucked major ass. Good thing is I'm getting 6 days off, so I don't have to work on my birthday. I'm pretty thrilled, although I don't really have any plans because I was anticipating working. Probably just have some friends over, and watch Pink Flamingos. Because I never get sick of that movie, etc. I always have really lame half assed birthdays. This year, I should try to do something better...

And now for an interactive part to my post:
I'm really sort of stagnant musically. I have this clutch of musicians I absolutley adore, but I barely listen to anything else. So suggest an artist/band for me to check out (please). Preferably nothing on the radio. Because that's all shit. At first I typed "shirt". Plz do not recommend any shirt music. I prefer weirdness. Foreign languages are okay.

Thank you.
That is all!♥

Manitou was fucking awesome.
I officially ♥♥&hearts peach iced mate. There's this cult that sells it and super yummy coffee downtown. So I spent most of the day coffee cup in hand. They had some neat little shops, most of which were overpriced. Will did get me a decently priced gray/black sparkly jacket thing, though. Also, we went to the coolest bookstore ever, The Bookman and got some really neat books (Heinlein, Burgess, Barker, etc.) The woman working was really friendly and knew a lot about William S. Burroughs and Robert Heinlein. There's all these natural springs you can drink from around too. One is a sulfiric spring you can huff and it makes you dizzy. Of course that provided much entertainment.

Need to do more stuff like that soon. My birthday coming soon, [hint, hint] so maybe next week, before I go to Maryland. (Which should also be fun).

Just got a new Ipod adapter thing for le Volkswagon. Pretty spiffy. This one is wireless, so hopefully it won't be all crappy where you have to "jiggle it a little" to get it to function.
I officially dubbed last Tuesday "Knitapalooza Tuesday" And in my opinion, it was a success. A lot of people are really interested in fiber arts! (And why shouldn't they be?) I'm thinking about trying to do something revolutionary, and start teaching random people to knit on campus in between classes (YES, I DROPPED BUSINESS ETHICS-- partay!) and such. Other times, I worry about my sanity.

I've got some great things thrifting lately! tons of clothes (of course) and a pair of ROLLERSKATES, the book On the Road, a panda rug, etc. Makes me happy. I'm trying to think of a place to go skating later today. I seem to recall from my younger years that the public sidewalk was not optimal skating grounds, but it might just have to work, as I have no where else to go.

Tomorrow should also be pretty kick ass. Will (teh boyfriend), Dan (teh best friend), Sascha (my puppy), Ruin (Dan's puppy) and I are going to go down to Manitou Springs and hike and whatnot. I've never actually been there, other than going to Pike's Peak (*yawn*). So it should be pretty kick ass.
